Beer Reviews!

Well, since I’m already doing comic book reviews, I figured I’d add other reviews, too. Special thanks to my roommate, who got me a Craft Brew Alliance 12 pack featuring three awesome beers. I’m not going to use a rating system, partially because I don’t like a numerical judgement system for subjective views, partially because I’m shit at assigning numbers to things. Those of you who are actual beer nerds will immediately recognize my amateur status as a beer nerd, but I at least have enthusiasm.

Red Hook- Blondage Ale::

I opened this beer expecting a typical blonde, but got a pleasant surprise. It was much hoppier than similar beers, and is dry-hopped. (I had to look that one up, it involves adding the hops after fermentation. Adds a hoppy flavor without the bitterness.) It has a very complex flavor. I sat there for a few seconds swishing it around my mouth to make a decision, but it definitely came out positive.

Kona Brewing- Whale Ale:

This Wheat Pale Ale didn’t hold any major surprises. It’s exactly what it sounds like, but that’s not a bad thing. It tastes… well, reliable. I thoroughly approve. The one unusual thing about it is the smell. At first whiff it smells pretty normal, but it just gets better and better smelling. (At least to me). Also, my roommate gave me a weird look when I kept smelling my beer.

Widmer Brothers Brewing- Brotha From Anotha Motha:

ERMAGHERD. Seriously, guys, ermagherd! This is genuinely one of the most delicious beers I have had in… well, ever. It’s a Bavarian style Hefeweizen, and ERMAGHERD. It is a rich, full-bodied beer with a sweet, tangy flavor, and… Hmm. I think I need another real quick. …And yep, it’s that good.

All three of these beers are limited runs, so if you can find this variety pack, definitely go for it.
